Ethylene Delivery Facility - Texas

Programmed the PLC based control system for the automated operation of an ethylene multiple run metering facility. Conducted on site checkout, commissioning and tuning of the system.

Graphics Upgrade Project - Arkansas.

Developed the HMI code to merge control and monitoring of two separate facilities into one InTouch HMI system using Ethernet. Modified both facilities’ PLC control programs, and converted existing graphics into a dual head (two monitor) HMI system. Conducted on site installation and operator training.

Refined Product Booster Station - Indiana

Programmed the PLC and developed the HMI for this pump station. Conducted on site start up, commissioning, and tuning of the system.

Refined Product Origin Station - Texas

Programmed the PLC and wrote the operations document for this four pipeline origin station. Field devices included two booster pumps, seven control valves, and a dual meter run. Sequences were written to automatically start deliveries, switch pipelines, and start or stop the booster pumps. Conducted on site start up, commissioning, and tuning of the system.

Propylene Delivery Facility - Texas

Developed a PLC based control system for the automated operation of a dual meter run facility. Conducted on site start up, commissioning, and tuning of the system.

Refined Product Pump Station - Texas

Wrote the operations document and programmed the PLC and for this booster station. This station included a separate PLC system for ESD operation. Conducted on site start up, commissioning, and tuning of the system.

Propylene Metering Facility - Texas

Developed a PLC based control system for the automated operation of a multiple meter run, three pipeline facility. Control valves and different size meters were used to handle a wide variety of rates. Conducted on site start up, commissioning, and tuning of the system.

LPG Truck Rack - Rhode Island

Developed the PLC program to replace an existing obsolete system. This system monitored and/or controlled the filling of bullet tanks and transfer pumps.

Pipeline Origin Station - Texas

Developed the PLC program to control operation of this origin station for a new 210,000-bpd pipeline. System included multiple pump units, metering, a tank storage farm, and interconnects to several other pipelines. Conducted on site start up, commissioning, operator training and tuning of the system.

Natural Gasoline Delivery & Storage Facility - Texas

Developed a control system operation document and developed the PLC program for control of four meter runs and a VFD drive pump unit. Conducted on site start up, commissioning and tuning of the system.

Refined Products Storage Facility - Texas

Reviewed existing plant operations, HMI code, and PLC programs to provide a written document describing plant operations, and an Operators’ Manual. Document included normal and abnormal operating conditions, descriptions of automated sequences, permissives, alarms, etc.

Pipeline Delivery Facility - Louisiana

Programmed PLC and HMI graphics for automated deliveries of multiple products, with switching in and out based on barrel count and/or API gravity. Batch stack provided entry of up to 6 deliveries, with the PLC providing customer switching and total station control of this unmanned facility. Programmed in APT and WonderWare InTouch.

Pump Control System - Texas

PLC automation of five sequential pump control systems, ranging from 60 HP to 3000 HP, and several motor operated valves. Included control valve software for flowrate and pressure control, a SCADA interface and a PC based HMI. Programmed in APT and WonderWare InTouch.

Tank Gauging Interface - Texas

Modified an existing PLC system to include an interface to a MTS Tank Gauging System using a MODBUS ASCII data link. Included data manipulation for readout and alarms. Programmed in APT and WonderWare InTouch.

LPG Storage Facility - Texas

This PLC automated control system was designed for Texas Railroad Commission required storage well monitoring and control. It also included staged control of 8 pumps varying in size from 600 HP to 2000 HP, provided flow and pressure control for connected pipelines, operated over 100 motor operated valves, and monitored 9 Elliott and OMNI flow computers. This system used twin 565T PLCs in a hot backup configuration, with 15 remote bases throughout the plant. Programmed in APT and WonderWare InTouch.

Pumping Station - Texas

PLC automation of three 250 HP to 3000 HP pumps and related motor operated valves, with sequences for multiple startup and shutdown conditions. Included control valve software for flowrate and pressure control. With SCADA interface and HMI. Programmed in APT and WonderWare InTouch.

LPG Storage Facility - Texas

This is a facility similar to one reported above. The PLC automated control system performed storage well monitoring and control. It also included control of 6 pumps varying in size from 500 HP to 1750 HP, provided flow and pressure control for connected pipelines, operated over 80 motor operated valves, and monitored 13 Elliott and OMNI flow computers. This system also used twin 565T PLCs in a hot backup configuration, with 16 remote bases throughout the plant. Programmed in APT and WonderWare InTouch.

Power Station monitoring - Texas

This PLC system calculated KVA, KVAR, KW, and power factor for a 1.5 MVA substation. It also monitored various signals for alarm conditions. Data from this system was fed into a manned PLC control system using a Nematron IWS2620 industrial control station and short haul modems. Programmed in APT, Nematron PCL.
